Dronspot spot on wormer for cats – a wormer your cat won’t mind taking
We have some exciting news to share! The days of coaxing your cat to ‘please eat the tablet’ are over! We are delighted to introduce Dronspot spot on wormer for cats, a topical worming treatment now available in our range of quality products.
Why use Dronspot spot on wormer for cats?
Whilst some cats will happily accept a tablet either being popped in their mouth or hidden in food, there are always those more discerning pussycats that stubbornly refuse to swallow anything remotely medicinal. Whilst I have worked with veterinary nurses whom I would back to tablet a wild ravenous lion, we do not all possess such talents.
Enter DronSpot, the first non-prescription worm treatment product that can be topically applied to cats.
Dronspot kills every type of intestinal worm
Just like your regular Drontal worming tablet, Dronspot kills every type of intestinal worm commonly found in UK cats. And, just like Drontal tablets, it is recommended to be applied every three months. The difference with Dronspot is the product is absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream, where it travels around the body, to the guts, where many of these pesky worms take up residence.
Dronspot is safe to use in all cats over 8 weeks old and weighing more than 0.5 kilograms. It is safe to use in pregnant and lactating queens.
How often do I apply Dronspot spot on wormer for cats?
Whilst our motto is “When it arrives in the post, it’s time to dose” we recommend a 48-hour gap between the application of topical flea and worm treatment. It does not matter which order the products are applied. The 48 hours simply allows each product to dry sufficiently. Flea treatments spread across the skin, whilst Dronspot is absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream, therefore each product does not interfere with the efficacy of the other.
How to apply Dronspot
The method of application is the same as for topical flea products:
- Part the fur on your cat’s neck at the base of the skull until the skin is visible.
- Place the tip of the open pipette on the skin and squeeze firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin.
The base of the skull is recommended for topical product application as it is the one area of a cat’s body they cannot contort themselves to lick. If your cat does manage to lick at the area where Dronspot is applied, they may react to the taste. As it is designed to cross the skin, it has not been designed to taste good.
